october 2006... Not only has spurn garnered a 4-star review in TimeOut NY, we're also the current featured selection in the illustrious Nylon Newsletter on-line!

october 2006... spurn reproduces! On Oct. 20th, 2006, spurn welcomed its first ever offspring. Chandra Marie Hart Trivedi was born a full seven weeks early at a wee 3 lbs., 14 oz to Richelle & Neil Trivedi. Consequently, for the first time in spurn history, Neil, co-creator and co-producer of the show, misses a few performances. That little girl is officially grounded!

october 2006... spurn returns with a multimedia comedy extravaganza in downtown New York's West Village! The all-new live production features the directing stylings of award-winning independent film maker Neil Turitz and introduces spurn's newest hotheads, Kristen Rozanski and Eric Zuckerman. spurn will be performing at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre, 50 W. 13th Street between 5th & 6th Avenues. Buy tickets in advance at theatermania.com.

september 2006... Holy cats! Just how did spurn's video podcasts end up with over 50,000 hits since January? Who are you nearly 4,000 people who have subscribed to automagically download our nine current episodes (with more on the way)? And just who the hell do those spurn video podcasts think they are, spreading like a plague throughout the internet from the iTunes Music Store to YouTube, MySpace and about 20 other podcast download sites? For this to happen as quickly as it has, we must live in dangerous and trying times.

july 2006... spurn proudly announces its two newest staff members - director Neil Turitz and writer Rob Paravonian! Herr Direktor Turitz comes to us from the world of film, having written and directed the award-winning Two Ninas, starring Ron Livingston (Standoff, Sex in the City, Office Space) and Amanda Peet (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Syriana). Meanwhile, the illustrious Mr. Paravonian has more years than he'd probably like to admit on the stand-up comedy circuit, and has appeared at such places as VH1 and Comedy Central. Rob also tours often, details of which can be found at his website, robprocks.com. With these two tremendous additions, how could the new show go wrong? How? Seriously, please tell us.

july 2006... It is with a heavy heart that spurn announces the departure of original cast member, writing contributor, board member and all around cantankerous elder statesman, Eric Cross. Eric and his lovely (and much more amicable) wife Linda are leaving New York for the literally greener pastures of Raleigh, South Carolina. What? Leave the greatest city on earth for someplace south of the Mason-Dixon Line? Apparently there's no accounting for taste. Godspeed, Crosses!

january 2006... What the- ?!?! Just where the hell has spurn been? Working diligently, that's where. We liked filming that video footage for the last show so much that we decided to break into the digital age. spurn now has its very own video podcasts feed! Just click here to check out some great, easily-downloadable spurn! And if you don't have iTunes yet, go to Apple for a free download. And welcome to to the 21st century, latecomer.

april 2005... spurn returns for it's 5th all-new stage production on the Upper West Side! We welcome you to the Vital Theatre Co.'s new home base, the McGinn/Cazale Theatre at 76th & Broadway. The new show features the directorial skills of Jim Duff, along with many of your favorite returning hotheads. But wait, there's more! For the first time ever, spurn goes multimedia! The new show combines both stage and video skits. Come check us out this month!

august 2004... spurn sells out! On August 13th, 2004, spurn opened the world-renown New York International Fringe Festival in the 200+ seat SoHo Playhouse, and sells out! Thanks to all the friends, family and fans who came out to see our little show, and for giving us that absolutely amazing standing ovation at the end.

july 2004... It is with deep regret and yes, true hatred, that we announce the sad departure of original spurn cast member Shawna Joy Anderson. Shawna has always been a true pleasure to work with, and spurn will be severely lacking without her. Curse you, Los Angeles, for eating the soul of another undeserving victim! Break a leg, Shawna!
