As Actor
Mr. McIntyre, a classically
trained NYU graduate and original spurn cast member,
has worked on numerous independent films that you haven’t
seen. Maybe 20-odd. He hasn’t seen some of them either.
He was recently seen as a contestant on
AMC's
Date Night (a program that has also
independently cast fellow spurner
Lara Jane Dunatov). In late
2006, he tackled the role of Andy in The Motel
(portions of which appeared on FOX). He
also appeared in Brooklyn International Film Festival winner
A Perfect Fit with “Entourage’s”
Adrian Grenier. He also
played the role of Jimmy in
Dylan Kidd's
P.S.
On stage, he has appeared
in every spurn production since 2001 and has performed in
theatrical productions ranging from
Christopher Durang to
Shakespeare (including multiple productions of Macbeth).
As a voiceover artist, he
has appeared in commercials for the
Food Network and in a small
role in the top-selling videogame of 2003: "Grand
Theft Auto: Vice City." He also recorded all
of the eBay training industrials for
FoundValue, Inc.
He likes
pie.
As
Producer & Writer
Mr. McIntyre began
producing spurn with the 6th production in early
2005. This
production represented the first multimedia show and he
oversaw the filming and post-production of the video
segments. These shorts were retooled and released in
January, 2006 through the iTunes Music Store (and
subsequently through
YouTube,
MySpace, and
Veoh). spurn was featured
comedy group on MySpace in late-2007 and has won 7 Editor's
Choice Awards on Sony's Crackle video site.
Noted music video director
Jarett Bellucci's 16mm
short film The Motel was shot in 2005 and completed
in 2006. It was produced by McIntyre and is currently making
the festival rounds. The Motel also helped Mr.
Bellucci secure a finalist position in
Speilberg and
Burnett's
FOX TV show "On
The Lot." In 2004, McIntyre produced the short
film Mr. Unlucky with
Neil Trivedi. This short was
also shot by Mr. Bellucci and features an original score by
Toothless Monkey Music. His
first project was producing the independent feature film
Laughing River (shot by award-winning cinematographer
Terry Stacey).
McIntyre has also produced
various off-Broadway theatrical productions including
Christopher Durang’s “The Nature and Purpose of the
Universe” and Israel Horovitz’s “It’s Called the
Sugar Plum.”
As Director of Development
for
Anne Chaisson's
Dirty Rice Films, he
assisted in the production of
P.S.
and worked
Diggers and the
forthcoming
American Seagull.
His screenplay
Unabridged placed second in the prestigious
New Century Writers Awards
and had a staged reading in Summer 2004 as part of the
Howl! Festival of East Village Arts.
The reading included
Cara Buono (“Third Watch,”
Next Stop Wonderland) and
Yul Vazquez (Traffic,
“Seinfeld”) and was directed by
Neil Turitz (Two Ninas).
Mr. McIntyre is currently working on several other original
screenplays.
Along with independent film director
(and former spurn director)
Neil
Turitz, he has comic
book projects in various stages of development. He is
currently awaiting word from
IDW and
BOOM!
Studios regarding Belle, Book and Kandel,
a darkly comedic "end of the world" story featuring
covers by comic book superstar
John Cassaday (Planetary,
Astonishing X-Men).
Pilot - a daring and unique television series pitch
with 2 completed episode scripts - was created by Mr.
McIntyre and developed with Neil Turitz. Pilot is
currently making the studio rounds.
