Director (2007 - Present)

Just when she thought she had heard and seen it all, Samantha got spurned! She is crazy thrilled to be spurn’s first female director, even though she had to contractually agree to go by ‘Sam’ to soften the blow from man to woman. They are still negotiations about the sex change. Samantha discovered her love of directing at Plano Senior High School in Texas where her Theatre Arts teacher vowed, “You are a Director!”  That’s a nice way of saying “You suck at acting.”  But she forged ahead on the directing path, with a pit stop at Quad C (Community College), and received her B.A. in Directing for Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College.

Now it’s time to be a bio whore:  Since college, Sam has worked with NYMF, Roundabout, MCC Theater, Artist Theater Group, EST, Director’s Company, Adirondack Theater Festival, Richard Frankel Productions and Women’s Project (just to name 9).  She is also a member of the P/D Unit at the Actor’s Studio.  Cheers to spurnX, and endless love to friends and my incredible family…you know who you are!
